About me

Katie Cavuto MS, RD, Chef
Doula

I'm so eager to meet you!

A warm cup of tea; that's love to me. So is a knit hat and a warm scarf and my feet in warm sand. And the smell of fresh cut rosemary on my fingertips or a newly peeled orange; they invigorate my soul and lift me up no matter the circumstance. These are a few of the simple things that nourish my soul and body. They're self-care for me, and, there are little things, like these, that feel like a big hug to you too, and I can't wait to explore these simple joys with you! Because simple acts of self-care and soul nourishment are acts of love too!

And not brushing my hair for a week, that's me too, because a messy ponytail and a bandana feels free and comfortable to me and it's also what I can manage most days which is a win-win, isn't it! I think I've lived the majority of my life in a ponytail!

There are only a few people in my life that know these things about me and you're one of them too. Because vulnerability is the heart opening to being fully seen and trusting that there is love for you. It's knowing all of the messy bits and the lovely bits (too much British TV for me) and accepting ourselves and one another unconditionally. I am happy to share of all the "bits and pieces" of  myself with you and I hope that you will feel comfortable too! Because I cannot wait to support you through whatever life circumstance you're going through. And I can promise you this, there is love in all of it, even when it doesn't feel like it. And when you need a good laugh or a good cry, some nurturing, nourishment, self-empowerment or a few to-do's checked off your list, I would be honored to be that person for you.

With love and gratitude, Katie

I've felt a deep calling to care for people from a very young age and that came more into my knowing as began my career as a Registered Dietitian and Chef, now 20 years ago. I loved being with patients and I am in awe of the human body, the miracles and our resilience. I also love to cook and share nourishing meals, and have worked as a mindfullness coach and holistic health educator for many years. Providing people the tools they need to feel empowered in themselves is a deep passion of mine.

This passion along with the joys and the challenges that have existed in my own life, opened up my path to becoming a postpartum doula and a life-long learner too! I also realized I have been a doula-ing my whole career and continue to; nurturing, educating and honoring people through many of life's moments!  From prenatal and postpartum education and care to supporting children, parents and grandparents too, I would be honored to help you.  I will hold your hand and support you if you're experiencing loss and grief and when it comes to end of life support, I would be honored to sit bedside too, because let's be real, we don't ever stop needing kindness, love and support. I certainly haven't, from infancy, through motherhood, and even now, 13 years after my son was born, love and kindness continues to carry me through.

You probably have questions and I think that is great! I would be happy to have a call with you and depending on your needs we can plan to meet in person too. In the meantime, you can take a look at the services I offer and learn more about what a doula can do! Just click the button below and I hope to talk to you soon!
